Tin, chemical symbol Sn, from the Latin “Stannum”, is a chemical element of Group 14 and Period 5 of the periodic table, with atomic number 50 and atomic mass 118.710(7). It belongs to the group of light metals and post-transition metals.

STRATEGIC METALS ASSOCIATION
The Association “Strategic Metals Alliance STANNUM” is an association of producers, suppliers and consumers of strategic non-ferrous metals. It was created to support the development of production by meeting demand for strategic metals in domestic and international markets.
STANNUM serves as a practical business platform for interaction between companies across the entire value chain — from geological exploration and mining to processing, industrial production and final consumption.

STANNUM operates in key areas that contribute to the development of the industry: from representing industry interests before public authorities to implementing joint projects with members and partners.

LEONID VIKTOROVICH GILCHENKO
Born in Arkhangelsk on June 9, 1959.
Graduate of the Admiral S.O. Makarov Leningrad Higher Marine Engineering School.
Submarine officer of the Northern Fleet of the USSR Navy.
Graduated from the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation with a degree in Law, with honors. Also completed postgraduate studies at the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation.
Since 1990, he worked for approximately 25 years in municipal and federal government bodies:
Head of the Closed Administrative-Territorial Entity Murmansk-60, 1990–1993;
Worked in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, 1994–1996;
Held senior positions in the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, 1996–2014:
In 1999–2000, he headed the Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation for Local Self-Government Affairs and initiated the creation of the Unified Congress of Municipal Entities of the Russian Federation.
In 2000–2001, he supervised the organization of activities of the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts.
From 2001 to 2014, he served as Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, ensuring coordination and cooperation between federal, regional and municipal authorities in addressing domestic political state tasks.
